VAB

Developed as part of a partnership with Renault Trucks, around 5,000 VABs, from the French "Véhicule de l’Avant Blindé" (armoured vanguard vehicle), were produced in the factories of Creusot-Loire (which became GIAT). Existing in many versions, this versatile light armoured vehicle equips some fifteen armies worldwide. Easily transportable by air, its performance stood out in service, particularly during the Gulf War, in former Yugoslavia and more recently in Mali.
